According to the Washington Post, “more than 134,200 people have died from Alzheimer’s and other forms of dementia since March. That is 13,200 more U.S. deaths caused by dementia than expected, compared with previous years.” They have died alone. Much like the animals at the Minnesota Zoo, Walz’s isolation policies have forced them into glass cages where only relatives can view them for their “safety.” The limited and highly restricted outdoor visits will soon be impossible due to snow and cold
On Sunday, October 18, from 1-3 PM, we will be rallying against this cruelty at the Minnesota State Capitol. We are asking relatives of those imprisoned in LTC facilities to bring photos of their loved one. Come and let the older folks know that we care. We must stop this cruel experiment now.
If you would like to tell your story or submit a family impact statement to be read during the rally, please contact Susan at [email protected] or Janis at 651-285-6509.
